We touch down in the present for a new work, completed in 2009, entitled Gee’s Bend. What do rock’n roll, quilts and classical music have to do with each other? Neal takes you on an trip to Alabama and related audio landscapes to discover the secrets behind Michael Daugherty’s electrified concerto. This program also includes the world premiere of DJ Sparr’s Superstring Serenade.
