Announcing a Dayton Philharmonic World Premiere! It is no secret that our Music Director, Neal Gittleman, has a personal mission to reveal all the musical threads that are woven throughout our city. That includes local composer Jeff Olmsted. The closing work on this program will consist of a setting of poetry by the Sufi mystic Rumi. It blends a small chamber orchestra with a chamber choir - for a sound that will transport the words to a new artistic plane. Neal also presents works by Hindemith and Mozart, both for small orchestral forces.
