What makes a legend? Some hit instantly. Some build over time into a musical force that becomes undeniable. Names like Benny Goodman and George Gershwin are now part of our shared legacy. These days, their music attracts the advocacy of talented, multi-faceted performers, such as Ken Peplowski and Leon Bates. Legends come from all genres. Names like America, a group who has been at the crest of the pop/rock scene for decades. The silver screen is the domain of legends, too, where bold scores were developed for great films like the James Bond series. Some legends evolve quickly, such as fresh new faces like Jane Monheit, an artist who is developing so rapidly she’s hard to define - but easy to love. Finally, we have legends of our own, such as Rhythm in Shoes. This may be their last season on the stage, but this is sure to be a performance that will live forever in our hearts.
